THE JORDANS RULE BOSTON A family bonding weekend that includes running a marathon may sound extreme to some, but not for the Jordan sisters. They completed their first marathons as well as successfully raising over $30,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson’s Research at this year’s Boston Marathon. For full article, click here Duel in the Sun: Alberto Salazar, Dick Beardsley, and America’s Greatest Marathon - A Book Recommendation / Review by Thomas O’Grady This year’s Boston Marathon was hot and sunny. While many people struggled, the top runner Sisay Lemma ran aggressively from the start and finished in a very fast 2:06:17, besting the rest of the field by nearly a minute. While this year’s race did not come down to a sprint finish, the conditions were similar to the infamous 1982 Boston Marathon which saw Alberto Salazar beat Dick Beardsley by only 2-seconds. The race was famously named the Duel in the Sun and all of the excitement of the race and events beforehand were captured in Duel in the Sun by John Brant.
